Funding for new music project with Grand Union Orchestra, Sound Connections and Shoreditch Town Hall
THAMES is hugely grateful for a grant of £15,000 from the London Music Fund. This will support a year-long programme, Exchanging Notes, delivered in partnership with Grand Union Orchestra, Sound Connections and Shoreditch Town Hall.
Exchanging Notes will inspire, support and consult young people in Tower Hamlets to develop their musical proficiency, creativity and confidence, particularly around composition, instrumental technique, cultural awareness and leadership, working with inspirational artists from diverse cultural backgrounds.
This project has been made possible by funding from the London Music Fund (charity no. 1121416), supported by The Karlsson Játiva Charitable Foundation, through the Signatur programme for the advancement of the art of music.
The London Music Fund’s mission is to transform under-served communities by enabling children to access high-quality music education, nurturing and developing the talent of every young musician in London.
Its Partnership Programme supports ambitious, inspirational projects across London, enabling young musicians to learn from, and perform alongside, top professional musicians in iconic venues.
