Thursday 28^th January, 16:00-17:00: KS1 singing CPD in preparation for KS1 performance day

Location: Shapla or primary lead school

This will be a practical workshop designed for specialist and non-specialist music teachers alike. It will include singing tips, games and rhymes designed to successfully engage students and encourage healthy vocal technique for 7 to 11 year olds. It will introduce repertoire for the KS1 Performance Day and explore how to use the resources most efficiently in your planning and classroom teaching. You do not have to be taking part in the KS1 Performance Day to be able to attend this CPD.

Rachel Maby joined THAMES management in June 2025 and oversees music provision in schools, primary CPD, singing strategy and performance opportunities for Tower Hamlets young people.

She has more than fifteen years of experience as a choral and music curriculum educator. Recent choral engagements include outreach work with The Sixteen, West Sussex Music and Ark Music. She’s coached and mentored teachers in curriculum and vocal music delivery on behalf of ABRSM Voices, Welsh National Opera, West Sussex Music, Music Education Islington and Music in Secondary Schools Trust.
