Early Years Arts & Music Network

The Tower Hamlets Early Years Arts Network provides a forum for EYFS practitioners to come together termly to share best practice, learn from one another and meet other EYFS practitioners working in Tower Hamlets. We also invite external arts organisations from time to time to lead training and CPD around a particular artform.

The network explores all artforms including music, dance, drama and visual art.

This network is for anyone working in an Early Years setting, including schools, nurseries, children’s centres, family centres, childminders etc, whether you are experienced in using the arts in your setting, or are completely new to it.

If you would like to join the network, please email us to be added to our mailing list.

Primary Art & Design Network

With termly meet-ups at the Whitechapel Gallery, this network is designed to build support for people delivering art in primary schools whether they are curriculum leads, class teachers or just interested.

The network offers peer-to-peer development and sessions are led by primary teachers, with each meet-up focusing on a particular topic and including practical CPD activities.

Secondary Art Network: THAT network

THAT (Tower Hamlets Artist Teachers) network is a forum for secondary artist-teachers and arts organisations from across the borough of Tower Hamlets to connect; collaborate; create; share good practice; promote arts education and actively empower art teachers to revisit their art practice.

The group meet regularly throughout the year and work together to devise a range of arts opportunities for secondary schools in the borough. This includes an annual 10 day exhibition showcasing student art work (see THAT network London (google.com) for details of their 2023 exhibition) and a number of workshop opportunities for students which enable them to explore the arts with professional artists, introducing them to practises they may not have normally experienced.

In addition, they also organise CPD sessions for teachers, giving them the opportunity to be creative, explore ideas and experiment with a diverse range of art techniques and processes. These sessions are delivered outside school hours and hosted by arts partners listed above.
